Transmission

Hello looking for a little help I just installed a new to me 46 rh . Stabbed a new filter and oil in and as I give it throttle it dosent seem to shift almost seems like it shifts to neutral.. any help would be appreciated

I re adjusted front band is seems to shift into 2 but going to 3rd it seems to shift into neutral

hopeing for someone to chime in

So I adjusted the tv cable a lot loosened it up if I let completely off it will shift to 3 but as soon as I give it throttle it shifts

I believe that the adjustment on that is like 1/16" with the motor running on the firewall side of the slot, mine liked it with no gap.

So I drove truck a bit today I replaced tv cable lever because the trans shop thought it didn’t look right went for another test drive I can get all gears but in order for it to shift I have to let right off throttle then shifts so this is forward progress atleast

You are close. I think all you need to do is slide the housing in the clamp a little further forward and you got it.

So I have the cable as loose as possible and i still need to let off in order for it to shift would something be sticky in the valve body?

you should never run a torqueflite Transmission 904,727.46RH,47RH with the tv cable or linkage lose or off best way to kill the trans. hold the fuel pump or carburetor at full throttle adjust the cable so you have a little gap 1/16 in siding link or none at all with the link held back.also Ken

Yes I would agree this has been for testing purposes It will not hold a shift of the cable is actually adjusted to the proper spec that’s why I’m asking about the valve body

I don’t know much history on the trans other than it sat for 5-6 years
