trans temp gauge is 250 temp ok

trans temp gauge is 250 temp ok

going to buy a trans temp gauge should i go with one that reads over 250 degrees or is 250 high enough thanks for your help

that is high enough. if your running over 250 your going to have problems.

I agree, I wouldn't want the temps to be nearly that high.

Temps can go above 250* but like they said, you don't want it to.

180-190 is "normalish" in my experience. I've seen charts that show how many miles your tranny's life is shortened by for every 10* over 200*, it ain't pretty.

FYI Overdrive is supposed to cut out around 270. I wouldn't want to see that.

Yea that's crazy. I was hauling hay last weekend (~10,000lbs) and on one run I forgot to turn off the OD and it made a 50* difference .
