Trans fill tube "Leaking"

Any body have any tricks for the fill tube where it goes into the trans. My fill tube was leaking before I pulled the trans and it is still leaking bad when I put the new 47rh in. I put a new o-ring on it and tried to seal it up with rtv, but no go... So..anybody have any issues like this before.. Thanks

Does it have a tab on it with for a bolt? My 727 has a little tab on in that attaches to the bellhousing with one of the bolts. When I put my transmission back in after rebuilding it I forgot to attach that tab and figured it would be ok. Once I fired it up it was leaking from the filler tube where it goes into the tranny. Once I reattached that tab with the correct bolt it went away. I guess it keeps enough down pressure on the tube to keep the o-ring seated.

Ya, mine is bolted up...But might be bent a little... I might just try to find a new replacement tube, it just doesn't seem like the filler tube is far enough in the hole.. But maybe because the bracket is bent a little... I got to get under there and investigate more.
