tranny splines??

Is there a differece between a gas NV4500 5spd {in my 92 W150} spline and a Cummins Getrag360 (in my 90 D250)? I talked to the guys at our big transmission shop today and they said in Dodges the splines are NOT different....anyone have any of this knowledge? Cuz if there isnt in just a diesel NV4500 and a gas i can get a Cummins NV4500 clutch and a bellhousing.

The 4500 has 29 splines. I don't know about a getrag, but beware, there is a HD and a light duty 4500. Sline sizes are different.

thats what i have in my 90 is a 2wd rag. So...what im gettin from this info is that my cummins will bolt up to my NV with a bellhousing and i can use my new clutch (still in box) for my Cummins getrag trans? The reason y im askin this is cuz my Cummins is in bad shape body wise. I only need one truck but my gas truck has a certain sentimental value to me. It was my 1st pick-up. I made the Cummins almost 4wd. It just needs the transfercase put in. But Id use the Dana 70 rear and im pickin up a good Dana 60 out of a 92 CTD for $100. hell of a deal. Use the Cummins leafs, front will work for sure in the 1/2 ton but idk bout rears yet. i got to measure them. But id make my W150 Cummins powered and sell the rest of the diesels carcas to a junkyard. 1 truck, one expense, more power and millage compared to my 5.2L (318) multi-port Fuel "Infected" magnum, and still have that value that i charish because my grandparents bought me the W150 for an early graduation present. Thing is, ive had it 2 years this Aug. and i graduate high school this year lol. I was just hopin that i could use the NV thats in the gas truck.

Gas nv4500 will have a 1 1/8" input shaft vs. the diesel nv4500 and getrag 1 1/4" input shaft.

I think you'll tear up a gas NV4500 with the torque of the cummins.
