Timing spacer issues

I need help, I just installed the M and H timing spacer and now have a few problems. The truck rattles like crazy when cold and is still not smooth even when warm.
After driving it for about 30 min the truck does not shut off when the key is turned off. I had to kill the fuel to stop it. I know the timing has never been advanced since the truck was owned by my father since it was new.

Please help me with some direction.

The rattle is from extra timing. Check you fuel shut off solenoid, BC has a good write up to fix it in the sticky if that is the problem..

Thanks I already read the sticky on the shut off solenoid. Shouldn't the truck run smooth again once its warm or will it always rattle a bit with the timing spacer.

I will check the shut off tomorrow.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have the spacer, but with my timing to the head it always rattles more than stock timing.

The spacer shouldn't add that much timing to make a noticeable rattle. Did you install all the spacers, including the one M&H included in the kit??

Yes I installed the little spacer with the spacer that was already in there. I installed exactly how the instructions showed.

It's a dynamic timing spacer, so at an idle it should not add timing, so it rattles on the highway?

So the fuel shut off solienoid is fine. The truck shut off today fine so far. It still rattles like crazy when its cold and warm at idle. I really can't tell if it rattles at highway speeds. Should I unplug the KSB and see if it idles better when it's cold?

Are your rpm's to low at idle? That has caused mine a rattle, once I brought them up my rattle mellowed.

So I checked the shut off solenoid it looks brand new still with no damage to the plunger. The truck when cold will not shut off. When its warm it does shut off but takes a few and seams like it barley wants to stop. It rattles when cold and my RPM is 800. If I unplug the KSB the idle jumps up about 300 RPM and the rattling gets much better.

Not sure why I am having so much trouble with the timing spacer. Anybody have any more thoughts or things to check?
