Throttle Cable????

I have a 92 with auto and might need to replace the throttle cable. Any body have the part number. Is this a Cummins or dealer item. I hope it is not a dealer only item.

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Re:Throttle Cable????

If your cable has stretched, I put a spacer between the stopper and the hole where ti comed out of the pedal. Also took up slack at the throttle lever. I was told here that some guys also bend the pedal to take up slack. I didn't save the partnumber, but Cummins wanted $65 plus installation last year. Wouldn't even think of checking the dealer price.

Re:Throttle Cable????

OK, I'll elaborate then. Youy might have a better idea, but after a day of messing under the hood on stuff, I just wanted to get it done one night. After adjusting the linkage to the max, I still had slop in the pedal. I took a washer and folded it in half most of the way. I drew the cable through the pedal, and folded it around tight. I didn'e want to cut off the stock stopper, and have a new one slip off going down the road. The washer I used fit the amount of slop I had perfectly. I wanted to save bending the pedal as a last resort incase the cable ever gave, and I needed to put a new one on.
