Synthetic Oil.

In my truck the manual says to run 15W40 in the summer and if it gets colder to run 10W30 but can I run synthetic 10W40 in my truck I am just wondering also what is a good fuel additive for winter and can you get a aftermarket stereo for these trucks since the hole is larger than most aftermarket stereo's
thanks again for all your help in the past.

They sell car stereo adapter plates that will let your new unit mount right up.
Look in the car stereo accessories section.

or you can build a stereo adapter plate and save some coin. I built my own out of diamond plate, was easy and looks good

Generally, if you purchase from crutchfield, they include the wire harness and adapter for the hole. Good retailer...fyi. ;-)

I run the same synthetic oil year around. It's good for cold starts. Power Service is a reasonably priced fuel additive. White bottle for winter and silver for summer.

Considering where you're from. I'd recommend lighter oil. I mean, I run 5w-30 full synthetic amsoil year round and it's been good for me. much easier starting in the winter.

I have never seen a diesel rated 10W40 oil. There are getting to be many 5W40 diesel rated synthetic oils on the market these days, and that's what I've been using year round.

hmmm good to know and I was told by a mechanic today that 10W40 is fine and on the back of the bottle it says for diesel applications as well so it must be fine. (by the way its ams oil so it should be good and does any one know if they make a filter for these good ol trucks?)

Sorry to the OP to get off topic here BUT, OFCMARC are you noticing more blowby with this oil. I switched to the T6 and I'm noticing more blowby. It's not a bunch but enough to make me wonder. Thanks.
