Swerving truck, help!!!

I've been having trouble out of my truck, it started with a little play in the steering when I was going around a long curve. So I check the alignment, rotated the tires, checked the ball joints, drag link joints, and lug nuts (these all check out). then when it got worse, and with a big road trip coming up on the advice of a 20 year chrysler tech. I put a new steering gear box on it (this did not fix the problem). So I had the truck realigned and had the ball joints looked at again, along with taking a peak at the leaf springs all to no avail. So after driving 1500 miles to a college out of state now I can just barely drive my truck the mile from school to work, while I'm driving it feels like the front and rear wheels are trying to go two different directions. Making it very hard to keep the truck driving in one lane, also if I turn the steering wheel all the way left or right while the truck is slowly rolling/going around a corner I can hear and feel a poping coming from the front axle. If anyone has had this problem before or knows what it is please hlep a poor college boy out. Thanks.

p.s. I do have a lift kit on the truck.

may be a stupid question, but you have checked to make sure you dont have a caliper froze up on the rotor? Checked the brake system? If the proportioning valve is bad that could lead to a swerving problem, or if you have one wheel not releasing...

You should have noticed this while replacing the box if it is the problem, but you might want to check the power steering mounting plate. it sounds like it is broken to me. same thing happened on my truck 3 times.

Check the front spring hangars. The factory rivets like to work loose letting them move around. Have had to fix this on two first gens. Makes a huge difference in the steering.

Knock the rivets out and put bolts with some locktite in there.

Sounds like the gear box mounting plate or cracked frame. With the engine running have someone turn the wheels in each direction and watch the steering gear box.

Did you check the steering shaft joint at the steering gear for play? The inside of that little box has parts that eat away at the housing. It will pop, somtimes loudly, and will get so loose that it feels like you have no control. If this is it you can rebuild it or buy a borgeson aftermarket shaft.
