What is the stock RPM Range for a 1992. Ordering a tach and am looking at the 4k one from isspro. Also where is the best place to mount the tach?

Thanks, Jim

Re:stock RPM range

Stock rpm range is 750rpm - 2500rpm. I've got my tach (4000rpm) mounted on top of the dash in a gauge pod. Another common location is a pillar mount.

Cheers,
Sean

Jim

My 92 idles at 750 and will hit the gov at about 2800rpm. I know that sounds high for a stocker with pump mods but I just checked it today.

I like the Autometer gauges. I have the diesel tack. I had it mounted on the column but moved it to the top of the dash when I installed the Autometer Pyro and Boost gauges. Believe this or not I mounted them on individule pieces of industrial velcro. Wal Mart has it. This way you can fool with it until you like where they are. On the column was fine but it did block the stock instruments a bit. Mounting on the piller is great but I feel it moves your eyes to far off the road.

I mount everything with velcro. You can always move it and you didn't drill any holes.

Look around for prices. I found the tac years ago and the price won't be close. I got it at a local speed shop. Not the cheapest place I guess. Any way there is a place in New Jersey where I just got my Boost and Pyro. They had the best price on the Pyro anyway.
