sticky throttle

Sometimes when I'm driving around and stop at an intersection my truck will idle a little high until I lightly "really lightly" tap the accelerator. It only happens sometimes, is there a pivot point where I can lube the linkage up? Its a 5 spd getrag.

the bellcrack on the throttle often gets rusty and causes problems like this. I took mine apart and cleaned it real well and used some high temp lube and it has been good for a year so far.

Mine isn't sticky but it's way too hard to push. It has the coil/torsion spring around the bellcrank that the kickdown lever is attached to, the springs on the pump lever itself, and a regular old fashioned throttle return spring. I left on the regular throttle return spring "just in case" and since it probably doesn't do a whole lot anyway, and I unhooked the spring on the bellcrank from its little tab so it's not doing much if at all. It's still too hard to push the throttle. Actually I should rephrase that, it's hard to KEEP it pushed, so it's not like there's any kind of resistance like rust holding it up.

I'm 95% sure it's that bellcrank's fault, there's just not enough leverage on it, but I don't know what to do about it.

PS - if anyone knows, what's a solution to holding the pedal end of the throttle cable in place? Mine had a ton of slack in it, and when I tried to shim it up with a bunch of washers the little plastic thing holding the cable end through the pedal broke in two. Right now there is a pair of vise grips holding it, hanging over my pedal.
