steering box joint issues
Hi all. I'm new here. I just purchased a 93 w250 4x and I have some questions about the steering. The cup just above the steering box that is the connection for the upper steering shaft is in bad shape. Is this piece rebuildable or do I replace it. I have seen the borgeson shaft but I'm cheap.

If your truck is 2wd it is worth rebuilding it because they don't wear out nearly as quick. If it is 4wd you are better off just spending the money on a Borgeson shaft.

Look in the sticky at the shaft rebuilt threads ther aresome great ideas on how to fix it. Cheaper than the borgeson shaft
Steering coupler rebuild:

Borgeson shaft install:

Another one on the Borgeson with instructions on changing the input shaft seal:

Important note on steering shaft replacement: DO NOT spin the steering wheel with the shaft disconnected. Some of these trucks use a clockspring to run the horn and cruise, break it and it's about $150 to fix it. Tie the steering wheel to the seat frame before you disconnect the shaft.
Homebrew steering shaft:
