Well spoken, KRB.

My neighbor (in the ground now) had the two-foot buzz-saw, wide-belt-driven by the big pulley on his tractor.

He took that UN-GUARDED arm-chopper all over and cut pole-wood and slabs for whoever would pay him.

He still had all his appendages when we buried him.

By the way, what on earth would possess someone to fly to China ??

Thumbs down Do ya feel lucky JIMBOB, do ya?

I paid about $1500 for the tug but it was a few years ago.
I agree with KRB, you look at the possible outcomes and you make your choices. I got another experience to add to the list this weekend.
Day 2 cutting up a large red oak tree, limbs gone, got done bucking it with 36" bar, it's raining, cold and very muddy, couldn't get near the tree to roll the pieces into the trailer due to conditions. I decieded to quarter the trunk pieces so they could be carried. I put 25" bar on modded Stihl 066 Magnum and proceded to quarter them, about half way through the pieces, caught pant leg with edge of bar. Looked down and said "that was close" stopped to take a closer look at hole in pants leg, saw blood, sent son ahead of me to get 1st aid kit, and tell mom (she's in the truck). Got to truck, had her get out the sissors and she drops them in the mud!, rip pants and long jons open and it's not good, leg and foot operate, I have feeling in everthing that should. So I decieded I'm going to the hospital close to home.
I had son load equipment and wood already cut while I stopped the bleeding.
Wife started to drive then I took over, she got promoted to passanger real quick, due to her trailer driving skills. It's 26 miles to the hospital in the rain. Called a friend and had her meet us there to take truck & trailer home and pick me up change of clothes. She took the equipment home and came back to hospital, first words out of her mouth "WHERE WERE YOUR CHAPS!" I replied "in the garage"
I had steel toed boots on, safety glasses and gloves I just didn't feel like sloshing around in the mud with chaps on.
14 big staples in left knee, the E.R. Dr.'s name was "Ho", he was not much of a trauma Dr. the first staple missed its mark! it took him 21 staples to get 14 in the right spot, they didn't numb as deep as the staples went in & out & back in. I was in that same E.R. room 2 weeks ago as a different friend got stiches in her hand, that she hit with a hammer.
No one to blame but me! and to top it off my boy left all the equipment out in the rain till I got home
1 I thought I was done cuttin limbs the day before
2 You don't know what kinda Ho you gonna get for $50 (E.R. copay)

I was very lucky, I'd post a pic but it would probably offend someone.

Pine Tar and wrap it with a shop-rag and you could have kept on working.

How do you like that 066 ??

I would like to have one to compliment my band-mill.

an 066 is a big saw, we run an 044 with a 36" bar and it has enough power for most anything, but an 088 would be nice, just because

BearKiller, it's strong for most stuff, I used to run it on a chainsaw mill, it worked ok, I came to the comclusion it was too hard on the saw.
I put a oem top end on just before the aftermarket oversize piston/ jugs came out. In some pine, 8 tooth sprocket, 33RSK semi-skip, laser fast!
Factory dual port muffler (no ebay b/s) Australian oil pump,
066 is the best all around saw big enough to get the job done, light enough to carry for awhile.

That's definitely not for me. I think I will stick to more conventional methods for splitting wood.
