I had to take the headache rack off of my truck, take my pocket knife and open the sliding back glass. Now they wanna get paid(Must be the economy)
That's the way it goes, partner. Sometimes I hate to come here and read this forum. It seems like after I read about something (squishy brakes) my truck catches the bug. If its not one thing, it's at least 10 others.

On an 02-08 pull top of door (front passenger) out and keep it out with a block of wood (about 5/8 inch). Lower a coat hanger with a thin wire loop over the ***. Crank the hanger around until the thin wire tightens on the **** and then pull up. When you open the door be prepared for the alarm.

I'm up to twice. $45 for the first mistake. That taught me how to do the second. A broken slider is $1300 (dog jumped through it). What is a spare key worth? If I am not driving - the key is in my pocket. I once had a passenger lock the keys in the rig and had to ride the horses in the trailer 25 miles for a spare.

Ah well, that's why god made insurance companies... except alot of policies have an exclusion now for when an insured hits one of their own vehicles...

I have a cap on so that wasn't an option. If I had that option, I would have broken one of those windows to get in.

I got the new window, put it on, it doesn't fit well so its gonna leak. And the guy at the junk yard must not know how to read tint codes, he told me it was my tint code and its not - I can hardly tell its even tinted. So on top of that, it looks like crap. I am literally thinking about welding sheet metal over them and deleting the windows.

then what would break to get back in when you lock yourself out again?

if you have a topper that you can lock you could hide a key for that and leave the rear window un latched,
that way if someone found the key it wouldn't work in the ingnition and most would not think the rear window would be unlocked

Now you have a reason to tint your widows . Did you have the junk yard install it? Just clean out the frame w/ a razor blade and flat head screwdriver, glue the glass in using a 2 part epoxy, or windshield urethane. I used to install auto glass back in the day. I have so many scares from that job.

I don't do aftermarket tint. Its all crap and it all peels. I get the glass that has the tint in the glass itself. Oh well, I'll find another window for it when I have time. This one will do for now.

No, I installed it myself. I bought the whole window, not just the glass. A couple of the little window mounting hole things are stripped out from when the previous owner apparently replaced the window once before.

I locked my keys in my truck while it was RUNNING! lol. I was at farm and fleet to buy a battery for it after I had it jump-started, and left the ignition key in the truck, and took the door key with me. (had to replace ignition after 4XX,XXX miles ) The guy told me it was an 825 amp battery, and I knew he was wrong, so I went back outside to look at my owner's manual. Opened the door, threw the keys on the seat, grabbed the manual, shut the door. So I started with a coat hanger, and it started to rain. So I started kicking one of the small panes on my back window, but it wouldn't break. Finally I turned around, facing the tailgate, and gave it everything I had with my heel. It fell out of the rubber and landed on my seat!
It was a great excuse to take it all apart and fix my leaks too!

I find that it is VERY easy to break into non power window trucks. You can use both hooks from a bungee cord. Bend to the correct fitment and use one hook to depress the locking button on the wing vent window and use the other (or another stick like object) to lift the latch. Viola the rest is cake, stick your arm in and unroll the window.

That key ring stays in my pocket except to lock the house or if I need one of the tools. Each vehicle is driven using a key ring that has only the keys to that vehicle. If I lock the keys in the truck, no big deal. I just pull my main key ring out of my pocket and open the door. Has saved my butt a couple times.
yes this hasn't failed me yet.....since i got the dodge the ford thats another story (see Below)

Knock on wood
or the old Indian trick 2 Allan wrenches (L tipe) 2 vice grips or pliers slip them under wing window turn 1 up to hold the button in use the other to flip up the latch on Ur wing window
