silla aluminum radiator

after reading about James' 1985 crew cab sb build in which he used a silla aluminum radiator I did some digging and found the part # for anyone interested in replacing thier stock intercooled radiator w/ an aluminum one. The # is SILLA1198, just google it and multiple sites come up w/ it in stock for ~$165 plus shipping. From what James said it seems to be a quality piece and for the price and lifetime warranty doesn't seem like you can really go wrong w/ it. I'll be ordering one for my CC build as well. Hope this helps someone out.

James

The core may be aluminum but the end-tanks are plastic. Not worth it to me. I paid not much more (about $200) for a Spectra radiator, metal core and end-tanks.

maybe i should clarify...I was looking specifically for an ALUMINUM core radiator, to me the end tanks being plastic doesn't bother me as the majority of the newer vehicles have had them that way for years, but thank you for pointing that out for others that might not have known/noticed.

Hey Jimbo
Is that Spectra the radiator they sell at Auto Zone for $399.00?
nobody could tell me how many rows the core was.

My radiator finally started leaking and I am going to have to replace it so I decided to have it recored instead where I have been getting my radiators since the late 70's a few blocks from my house.

I paid him $100.00 to order the core so when I bring in my radiator on Monday he said he will have it back in 4 hours.

He is going to build me a 3 row High Efficiency (desert) radiator and will cost me $367.00.

So this will be my project for this weekend.

I am really glad I have my EZ-Up.

I bought mine from Rock Auto. From the looks of it, the price has gone up from what I paid, $209 to $269. I'm going out to look over some recent projects I've completed. I'll see if I can't get a row count for you soon.
