Silencer Ring
Is it bad on the Compressor wheels and turbine and Turbo in general to take the silencer ring out on an hx-35 or any turbo with a silencer ring?

i would say its not better but it would take quite some miles on it to make a difference
search it on comp d. couple turbo guru's say its a No No.
i had mine out and well,iam not sure you want the turbo louder.seams stupid to me

I had to wear hearing protection while towing a load....for 13 hours!!!!
Sounded like I was on a Hercules aircraft.

the silencer ring directs air into the center of the turbine wheel reducing side shear increasing compressor efficiency. other than a slight loss in efficiency and gain in noise no harm
