Shift light

Is it possible to put a shift light in my truck? I don't know exactly how they work but is it possible?

Yes. Some will say no because some have not been able to get auto meter or other brands to work but I had an auto meter that worked on the 4 cylinder setting

Were you using the auto meter tach with a shift light? I would like to keep my isspro tach and just add a shift light. I read somewhere that isspro is making a tach with a built in shift light but I cannot find it on their website.

Cause the tach is hard to read at night the light is a little dim. Also that 1-2 shift comes fast when you are beating on it. By the time I move my eyes from the tree down to the tach I almost missed the shift already.

It applies the low band in the trans which does not apply when the shorter is in drive. Makes the trans a little stronger is what I am thinking. Also I am having some trouble getting the shift points perfect so I can just leave it in drive.

do my "zip tie mod"

zip tie the TV cable open and adjust to your liking and when you want the shift points. I had my trans shifting at 2700rpm+ this summer while pulling and racing

I think MSD makes a stand alone shift light you would have to put the magnet on the crank to trigger it though.

Looks like they hook up to the coil or msd. Plus they only go down to 3000 rpm. Thanks for the info anyway I am going to call isspro tomorrow and see what they say. I see a few posts on other diesel sites about isspro making a tach with a shift light but I can't find it on isspros website.
