selling one of my trucks should I fix first? or partout

I broke my IP after attempting to fix the leaky pump head seal. I'm trying to sell it as is hoping to avoid days of labor in the driveway. I've had some interest mainly guys just wanting it for swaps. Would I be better off parting it myself? It has brand new battery, alt, volt reg, rear brakes, bearings, seals, trailer wiring, front tires etc. The body is pretty nice with no rust on the cab drip rail, rockers, corners, etc. The bed is straight with no rot. Its really to nice to junk out. What does a rust free cab go for?

Is the IP the only thing wrong with it? how bad did you hurt the pump?

syncro is soft on 2nd gear it grinds unless you shift slowly, tranny leaks a little, no tailgate. I don't know whats damaged in the pump I was trying to avoid removing it. Local guy quoted me $470 plus parts to fix the pump if I pull it.

Dude get the pump fixed and sell it for $3500.

I bet if you double clutch 2nd it will go right in. And all the getrags leak...

That truck is in darn good shape. I will try to give you values

Rust free LE cab- $500 minimum
Bed- $500 Minimum
Rear- $350 Minimum, depends what gear and whether it's LS
Trans- $400 minimum Even if it grinds
Engine with no IP- $750 Minimum
Interior looks nice. Probably could seperate that from cab and sell it....I need some headliner trim in that color LOL.

I don't think your price of $2500 is too far off what I had in Mind, If it's as solid as it looks and it drives good I would say it's still worth $2200 or so

And this thread is definely going to get edited or maybe even pulled, it kinda sounds like an AD . And the forum does not allow anything like an AD in the open forum.....

The broken part in the pump could be the throttle shaft, seen it happen and it doesn't pull on the governor spring so it doesn't start at all......It's like a $25 or so part and you dont' even have to take the pump off the engine

Dude, do NOT short sale yourself. Why? I have and probably lost over $3k between my 2 trucks I sold/parted.

$500 spent for $1500 gained? Gold can't even touch that!

DING, DING, DING, DING, DING! And we have a winner!

I'll edit it in the off chance that the original poster had nothing but good intentions in mind and really, REALLY didn't intend it to be an ad.

What any other admins do is outta my control!

Discussing the differences of current value and cost of potential fixes is one thing, and I think that's cool.

Straight-up offers of sale or purchase go in our Classifieds Section period. Forum rules.

And as chaikwa said: "What any other admins do is outta my control!". .. . and trusted.

I agree with this idea. If it's in that kind of shape, put in the time and keep driving it. Easier on the pocket book
