seal question

Does anybody know if there is a seal between the getrag and NP205 to keep them from sharing fluid between the 2. My servive manual doesen't not show one on the Getrag but shows ones on the NP205 is this the only one. My transmisson and tcase are swapping fluid atleast my getrag is giving it to the NP205 overfilling it and causing it to leak everywhere. I just odered a NP205 seal kit but need to know if i need one for the transmisson also while i have the tcase pulled. Any info would be great.

The seal will be on the 205 side of things, there is no seal on the output of the trans, just a gasket on the flange to keep the fluid in.

Actually, there IS a seal on the tranny side as well. OTherwise, how would it keep the fluid in? The void between the two is suposed to be dry, at least in theory.

If your Getrag seal is leaking, I'd look into why it is leaking. Normally, excess wear & slack in the bearing preload will start things going bad, and it goes downhill from there. And it could just be a 15 year old seal that has seen the end of its useful life.
