Salvage Yard Near Me??

Hey guys,

Ok, Ive allready called about eight salvage yards around me, a bunch in Ontario and the surrounding area and a few in San Bernadino. For those of you familiar with that area. I live in Chino, real close to Ontario. Every salvage yard ive called says they dont have any 89-93 dodge trucks, then gives me a number to another yard that does not have any. I need a rear bumper, tailgate, front bumper and woulnt mind seats in better shape if I came across them. Anybody know of a Salvage yard within like an hour of me that has our trucks? California is crawlin with these things, how can they be so scarce in the salvage yards?, Thanks

Most likely the older model trucks go directly into the crusher.

Not pooin on Cal. We have plenty of greenies here also. The only junk yard here in town ( all old stuff ) is now gone. He had to fight every year to get his permit. Once the price of scrap came up he crushed everything and gave up. The local code inforcement officer is all over people that have more then 3 non road legal cars on there property. I hope he doesn't come to my house.

richie, off the subject, I turned my starwheel down about 20 clicks, I cant pinpoint exactly what it does to the truck, but I noticed a positive difference when I did it. What are you accomplishing by turning down the starwheel?

Wow, you have the best selection of self serve crushers in the world down there! Pick n pull, pick your part, Ecology auto. I still find those trucks in the yards up here (San Jose) but not many. Forget finding a Diesel with anyting useable on it here. If you want to make a day of it, head up 99 into the Central Valley, Bakersfield, fresno, Sacatomatoes. That is where the most trucks are. Forget calling a yard, all the full service yards got rid of that inventory long ago. Just like the muscle car stuff, it will just keep getting harder to find. Good luck. (are you the guy that P.M.ed me a couple months ago about your truck in texas?)

Yeah, but we can still use our sheetmetal!
I would trade just about anyplace for this miserable State.
The stuff here hits the self serve yard, and is gone in less than 60 days.

I'd say for the most part kinda true, but funny considering me and my buddy just looked at a 90.5 D250 gasser that had barely any rust on it what so ever. great panels, great interior, pretty much all great shape, $1500 all he wanted too lol

Well , the starwheel adjustment is for adjusting the spring tension on the fuel cone. If you screw the starwheel down it takes less pressure ( boost ) to push the fuel cone ( some call it the fuel pin ) down and add fuel to the fire. It is one of those fine adjustments you can play with to add or subtract a little fuel at low boost. With my 89 and stock 4x12's I wanted a little harder fuel down low to help the turbo come on. Now I have the smoke screw maxed so it really makes my starwheel adjustment null and void. My fuel cone is always pushed to the deepest all the time.

yes sir, now im starting to understand, I kinda had the idea that the fuel pin would travel of the mashing of the pedal, but it moves because of boost pressure? But then why can u cloud somebody with smoke if you knock it up to 5th and stand on it. Maybe it does work off your pedal.
