Rims with slightly larger lug holes
Rims with slightly larger lug holes
Hey guys, I bought a really nice set of studded winters (235s) almost brand new. The guy I bought them off of had them on a 2004 Chevy. They came mounted on the old rims. I did a lot of searching and I'm still kind of stumped. From what I gather these rims have the same 8x6.5 pattern and everything, but the Chevy wheel studs are one size higher than our 1/2x20 size. I was under the impression that I could just buy larger lug nuts with more surface to mate with the tire, isn't that what guys do to make 2nd gen rims fit our trucks? Anyways, I've been to a few tire shops and Napa and I can't find any lug nuts that work, do they even exist? I guess I'll just bite the bullet and get them remounted, but I was really hoping to make use of these rims.

My truck came with 2nd gen wheels on it, and they were being held on by some 1/2x20 Chrome lug nuts that were about an 1 1/4 long. Like you would use for aftermarket mag wheels.
They seemed to work good. I'm pretty sure they were just a standard long lug nut like you can buy at any parts store.
