Rearend rebuild prices
Sounds a little high to me. Most shops will do both ends for that. What kind of warranty comes with it? What is being replaced? If you are getting Ring, Pinion, carrier, spiders, etc, changed, $700 might be fair, but for $1300, you need some additional favors of one sort or another.
What's the hourly labor rate? That will make a difference. Shouldnt take more than 4-5 hours for a competent tech to do it ALL.

I am in process of doing mine now.
New Dana Power-Lock, Motive ring and pinion, master install kit, new wheel bearings and seals. Everything will be new to the tune of $985 in parts with no labor charges. This dosent include the misc. expenses like gear oil/form a gasket etc.
The 2 big expenses are the new carrier $500 and ring and pinion $190. If you are going with aftermarket high end units $1300 with labor is about right. If you are not replacing the major components then $1300 is high.
