I don't know if your year is different from a 90 model. I went out and measured the one I had lengthened for the crew project. I get 1.574" on the rear of the shaft where it exits the support bearing. This 2 piece driveshaft was originally from a 1990 diesel automatic 2WD truck.

I know that I needed the larger one for my '89 2wd. I hope Dodge was nice enough to use the same carrier bearing on all first gens

I think you need the larger one but you should measure to make sure

Larger one.
The small one is for 1/2 ton trucks.

For the same reason they also list under the diesel emisions:
Air Pump Pulley
Air Temperature Sensor
EGR Transducer
Oxygen Sensor
Vapor Canister Filter
Vapor Canister Purge Valve
