Rear axle ???

I think it is a D 70 but when i look for any parts there are a few to choose from what is the standard rear in the 1992 W250 ?


D-70
D-70hd
D-70u
I would guess and say D-70hd but would like to be sure

Does the D 70 u have the narrowed tube on the outer ? i was just looking at mind and it doesn't have the narrowed tubes does that mean it is a Dana 70 HD

no to far gone I had a Dodge parts guy run the vin ....... lol Waste of time he did say that it was dana m 70 so now I am really friggin confessed

The 70HD has 4" axle tubes like a D80. They were mainly a dually rear AFAIK. The 70-U tubes do not neck down before the brake flange.

It should say on the housing what model it is. Usually is is on the webbing of the center section.

The '89 says 70-2U on it. You can kind of see it here:
