Really weird vibration

This one has me stumped...

138,xxx miles. Tires almost worn down.

Just noticed a light vibration, like driving over a continuous rumble strip but not harsh, kinds muted. I can feel it in the wheel, the seat and floor. It is a function of vehicle speed not rpm.

Weird part is it comes and goes. It will sometimes start when I turn right on a curve. Or when I go over a bump. Stop the truck and go again and it stops until I turn right or hit another bump. Is that weird or what?

I've checked the exhaust and wiggled all the "stuff" to find something loose but no luck yet. Does this sound like anything familiar or do I just keep wiggling till I find the culprit or wait until it falls off?

maybe a bumpsteer wobble? we had a w350 that would shake the fronts left to right, and as time went on it got worse, culprit was loose pitarm. my 350 2wd had been sitting a long time and had a vibration in the wheel, found it to be a unreleasing caliper, would go away on some turns and slow speeds, just some thoughts

OK, besides having a job, a wife and two kids - THIS VIBRATION HAS REALLY DRIVEN ME CRAZY!

But I have finally isolated it - but not identified it.

So I turn the motor off and coast, its still there.
I slide the transfer into neutral, its still there.
I lock in the front hubs, it goes away!

So now I know that its the hub/lockout/whatever (right side I think).
Never had one apart. Need to do rotors and repack anyway. Anybody have a clue what the little culpret is in there?
