Really awesome headwork?
Porting is expensive but money well spent. I'm hoping to drop 10-15lbs of boost with my new head. The biggest issue with the first gens in the lack of injection pressure and volume. They have to run large injectors to make power, and without pressure behind it they dribble into the bowl and make alot of smoke. If you add nitrous to it the power goes up, but only slightly. You don't see the 300-500hp gains from nitrous like you do with a common rail or p-pump because there isn't enough fuel being moved.
As RonA pointed out, boost will drop with more head flow, as you're basically making the engine more efficient. The turbos will also be stressed less, which mean the air should be denser, and maybe make a bit more power. The big thing I have heard about high flowing heads is they really keep EGT in check and boost low to keep the turbos alive.

I made 556rwhp with a poorly tuned truck using a stock chunk of unmodified iron on top. Maybe when I've exhausted these stock parts (cam and head), I'll look into upgrades. That's my response to guys with the gasser mentality. I always ask, have you exhausted the limits of the stock head and cam? Of course not. Put the money elsewhere.
If a guy is looking for more than 300 hp (12mm) and thinks the head is holding them back, then the money needs to be spent elsewhere first.
Good injectors, better intercooler/pipes, intake horn and turbo will do the job.
If your already at 400+ hp or have the head off for other reasons, then a ported head IS money well spent.
The Head;
I would try advancing the timing and get a good cam. Both items much cheaper than head work and I think you will get the results you are looking for. It is an uphill battle working with air at 5000+ elevation.
My own plan is to get to 500 rwhp with the 12mm pump fuel only, then add a cam and finally an "awesome" head.
A 14mm rotor head does me no good now as I can bury the pyro already.
And as far as Brezezinski, as stated before, I have no personal experience with them, just word of mouth, but for $1250 you get quite a bit for the money.
