Headwork

Well my headgasket went south again. The truck is still driveable but I am real light on the pedal. Anyways since the truck has 178k on it I was wondering if I should get a valve job when I pull it off again? Also I had it resurfaced last time, should I have it done again?

Thanks

how many miles since last time? if it hasn't been too long, i would definitely say to hold off. unless of course it's way out of spec. prolly won't be though. when i pulled mine, with somewhere between 350k -400k on the clock, it was almost still within tolerance. first time it had a valve job too.

Hey, the new paint looks much better, man. Sharp looking truck. If you've got the money, get the valve job and some bowl work while you've got the head off. That's what I'd do, if I had the cash at the time...

Thanks for the replies. I really dont have extra money right now. Thats why I was wondering how long these trucks can go without getting valve jobs. I was planning on getting it o-ringed and put some stiffer valve springs but not quite sure yet.
