"Real" value of a 1st Gen?
I always wonder what these trucks actually sell for compared to the asking price or what you see on on-line auctions.
Last Saturday there was an estate auction here. Typical sad story - parent dies, some children want to keep farming, some want the money, so it all goes to auction. I have no money nor time, so I didn't go.
Any way, had a single cab W250 same year and paint scheme as mine. Only 160K and recent auto trans work. I don't remember any rust, just some dents. Haven't seen the interior in a long time.

High bid was $8,600 and I heard it was bought back by one of the sons.

A friend of mine sold his 92 auto, (don't know which), 4wd that was pretty rough, but no rust, for 7500 in 2 days. He probably could have gotten more...Mark

It all depends on condition I see kids selling first gems that are totally bagged out with big 30” wheels on for 10-12 thinking they have a gold mine and others selling grandpa owned trucks for 8-15 in great shape with all the hubcaps and trim still intact and they sell. I bought mine for $2800 I was the first caller and in my opinion it was worth just the engine trans transfer case and frame the body was non existent as were the tires. Now after putting 5k into it to bring it back to original shape it’s worth about 10 just for all of my labor and parts. 15 would be what I’d ask for mine to actually sell it. Theyres not a spot of rust to be seen and most of the frame is stainless steel after fixing the thin spots. I’d say that truck that went for auction I’d of given 10 if it were a five speed. And that is about value as it looked like it needed a little love but not much.

That's the same color scheme as mine except I have an extended cab. I paid $4500 for it to save it from Obama's genocide. As for what it's worth depends on what you can get someone to pay for it. Here I could probable get 8 1/2 - 9 1/2 for it. No rust, very little minor dents and dings, paint isn't great.

I sold my ‘91 W250 5 speed flatbed with 180,000 miles on it for $8,000 cash. Then it was up for sale again 2 years later for $10,000 and a friend of mine went and bought it. Doubt he gave $10k but probably not much less. It was fairly straight but well used but also mechanically sound
