Radiator?

Is there any other years that will interchange with 1st gen radiators and or gas job trucks? I have two and both are pretty much junk just looking for options.

First, the early first gen and later (91.5-93) are different. There are some pretty good after market high performance aluminum radiators. I use a Mishimoto.

Never mind the numbering and ref to '89. It fits 91.5-93 CTD

just curious..

Why are they both junk ?

Can't have them boiled, tested and reuse them ? Unless they have giant holes going through them, such as if you were driving through africa, and a spear chucker chucked his spear at you (lots of meanie tribes there) I can't see why it can't be rebuilt for much less than the cost of a new aftermarket unit.

Hi T! I don't know if it really applies, but years ago I took my rad out of my '90 to the local radiator shop that I have used for years. The guy called me and said that the core in the dodge was much denser, or had more tubes and fins for its size than the replacement core material that he used at the time. I would assume that the higher density core material is available, but he just didn't have it. I bought a new one, and because of something I do with the coolant (darn Alzheimer's ), it still looks new...Mark

Do you need to move toward modern coolant with an aluminum radiator?
