Talking Pump Tweakin

Well I'm bored and since we haven't touched the pump since we got it, I think it's time we play. Now I know from the way it fuels that the smoke screw was turned down for those city miles. Fer one it doesn't put out any black smoke when it's tramped to ****, and 2 the covers gone off the smoke screw with rough edges on the screw. She'll put out white smoke when extremely cold but thats it. All I want is a safe range of smoke. Enough that it's not constantly putting out but enough that when u give her a good stomp of the go pedal she puts out satisfying results, if you know what I mean. I'm thinking anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. I dont wanna mess with the power screw just yet but a little more smoke seems desirable. Also I was thinking of crankin my star wheel a little. All I wanna know is how much is too much? I dont wanna overdo anything. I dont have any gauges yet so I want to take all this within stride and not make things go BOOM!, lol... So give me some imput. How much turning of the smoke screw is too much? How much smoke output is bad? And the same goes for the Starwheel, how much is too much boost?

Thanks

I would recomend you go kinda easy on it until you get the gauges in.I bet you could tweek the smoke screw a little though. As for smoke output,I didn't know you can have a bad amount! The more the better. But be careful running gagueless,It would be a bummer to ruin a good engine making a power cloud!

I agree with CalebC. Without gauges, it is hard to see how much is how much. That is what gauges are for. But, it is easy to make those adjustments so I would start moving it a little and then test ride. Too much, back it off.

Any pictures of that truck with the Black Cherry? I bet that looks SWEET.

^^^ Yeah I got a couple shots but they aren't great. Let me get her washed up tomorrow or whatever and then you'll see.

As for the gauges, I really dont know what to do. Every autoparts store and dealer I try, none can order me anything. I want some Isspro's but aside from purchasing from the net, I'm stumped. Any ideas where I might look or what I might do?
