Pump plunger collar
Is that the collar toward the top of the picture, the one with a hole? Is that the hole where the button/ball on the side of the head chamber should fit into?
Anyway, I think the ball/button at the side of my pump's head chamber is not engaged into the plunger's collar hole. Do you think some damage was done inside the pump from cranking / trying to start?
I'm in the process of my reseal effort and read threads about resealing procedures. It wasn't enough and they are incomplete. They give one a false sense of confidence and they sound not too complex, and they leave out some gotchas. So in retrospect, when undertaking a "resealing" effort, BEFORE starting, research not only "resealing procedures" but also and more imporantly "resealing problems, no start, probems, help, etc". It's like googling "Ford Focus problems, crap, complaints, recalls, etc." before buying a used Focus.

Took the pump out again and of course the ball is not in the collar hole.
However, when the ball is in the collar hole, the slot at the bottom of the plunger won't line up or engage with the button on the round thing with holes over the cam.
I tried rotating the collar on the shaft but it doesn't move. I thought it is supposed be loose and able to slide on the shaft.
Help!
Edit: 1 minute after I posted I was able to knock it loose!
