I have never seen that before, but it looks as though the cam seized and slammed the advance mechanism out the side of the pump somehow

All I can say is OUCH! I don't know if you can get that bit off and replace it, but that's an expensive break, as well as frustrating if the rest of the pump still works.

I wonder what the other side of the equation looks like. Careful putting that back together. no sense in fixing it just to have some pieces of the old one break the new one. Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the pump with a reman, and am back up and running. I just hope they will accept this one as a core!
