Re:PS Pump repair

I was wondering if it's possible to separate the ps pump from the vacuum pump on the truck. The instructions in the Napa seal kit don't look too difficult. Hasn't somebody out there done this?
Chris

Re:PS Pump repair

Yes the vacumn pump and steering pump can be removed seperately. Between the two is a 2 bolt flange. Remove the nuts that hold the two together. Once apart, you will see the cross shaped drive coupling that the drive tangs ride in. Around the 2 bolt flange is an O-Ring. This will probably be in your kit as well as an oil shaft seal. After you have installed the kit, line the drive tang up with the drive coupling and tighten the nuts to the flange.
