Power screw, reference
So I was going to turn the power screw in a turn for the first time yesterday, pulled it out to remove the welded collar but then decided I was going to wait to get an egt and boost gauge. So I re-installed the power screw and just threaded it in until it was tight against the welded collar. Then I proceeded to bleed the injectors ( i hadn't done it yet, only have had the truck for a couple months). So I take it for a ride and wow, it has more power! It also seems to run smoother, not as rough when I release the throttle.
So my question is, is the welded collar a reference for where the factory setting is? Or did bleeding the injectors do something?

On the ones I have done, there's lots to be gained without having to remove the collar. On many of them, just turning the screw will move the collar out of the way and allow a decent adjustment.
