pidley turbo mods

looking for some turbo mods (DREMEL MODS ETC.) to pass some time in the shop until my next purchase
will porting and polishing the compressor side of the turbo net any gains
or exhaust housing mods
i no not to mess with the areas around the wheel but what about the areas that are funnel shaped in front of the wheel and the backing plate etc.
just some past time mods.
i have a turbo off of 1989 3500 i've heard these have a better wheel in them is this true?

I think they are a little bigger. The best thing to do IMO to not spend too much is find a compressor housing from a I/C H1C, (4" in/2.5" out) and build a custom crossover tube to accomodate it. Im doing this, only with an HX35.

You can port the inlet on the turbine housing to match the manifold, or even slightly larger. I don't know if 350's had a better wheel or not. The most commonly used measurement on this site is the diameter of the inducer, or small part of the compressor wheel. Porting the compressor housing probably won't gain you much.

To do the H1C to WH1C conversion you need both the wheel and the compressor housing. You need to grind off the flange and use a 2-1/2 to 2 inch adapter hose to mate to your stock crossover. I did the 12 cm WG housing also and I am very pleased with the result. Look in my gallery for photos.

finally someone asked me that
we actually used a 75 model divorced np205 and a 2 wheel drive 727
i questioned the strength of the divorced setup but it seems up to the task.
