Painting Grill black
Painting Grill black
Hey guys I figure painting the grill black would look pretty good on my truck and I was wondering how to do it. How do I remove the plastic chrome plating from the grill without destroying the grill? what are some tips from guys who have done this/considered it?
I imagine the grille chrome is like the mirrors. Its plated on there. You just have to find or make a small nick and start peeling. It will take a LONG time, but just remember the paint wouldnt stick too good straight to the chrome. What color is your truck?
the truck itself is dark blue, but the wheels, flatbed, and bumpers are black. I figured the less the chrome the better looking and the less I'll have to worry about spots.
I agree. I have dark blue over tan, and Im doing away with most chrome. The grille will probably stay, unless I get another one to play with. Ive got black mirrors, headache rack, and bumpers. Im working on black door handles right now.
