Paint Job Idea with Photoshop (Pic)

Well its almost time to paint the old girl, so I decided to use photoshop to do a custom paint job. After a few different color changes I think I like this one the best. Tell me what you all think!

Oh by the way this is not my truck, I borrowed it because of the gun metal gray color......and its an awesome looking truck.

unusual but very cool. I hope the grille will be chrome though. I think a chrome grille would look better than that gray.

My very first though was, "whoa!"
The more I look at it the more I like it. It's very cool.

I like it. Not to contradict Rick here, but if you have a painted grill you would have something different from most of the first gens. I like the look of that truck!

Thanks guys

I'm still not too sure about the grill neither. I've never really been a fan of chrome though, I've always liked solid colors. Seen as how there will be no chrome anywhere else on the truck, the grill would stick out like a sore thumb if I kept it chrome.

I still have a couple months to toy around with Ideas.

I see your point on the chrome but every time I look at the grille/front end it just looks weird. Maybe paint it but find a better shade/colour?

Maybe it's alright the way it is, I don't know. Just seems... odd...?
Everything else looks real nice though.

Well I couldn't figure out how to get the grill the exact color as the grey on the rest of the truck, that could be why it looks a little odd. I will try a few other shades and see how it looks Rick, I do agree it looks a little off in that picture

yeah maybe that's why, it does look a little different from the sides. Maybe an exact match would look better.

use the dropper and touch the color on the truck, then to the color square at the bottom and it'll match exactly so you can do the grille.

Did you use the pen tool for the grille? looks nice

I think i'd like a chrome grille better though

Almost the way my truck is getting painted. Mine is getting PPG Pepper Grey Metallic on top and PPG Saber Grey on the bottom. The color in the middle of you photoshop is the color my truck is now, Saber Grey. But I'm going all the way down with it. Nice color choices.

Crossy's son, I did use the color match tool, its a little hard to match over top of chrome though, I did end up playing around with it and getting the color a little closer by screening a little darker grey over top of the chrome, i'll post it up in a bit. I just used the polygonal lasso to cut it out, pen tool is still a bit tricky for me. I also tried it with the grill black and the inserts gray, it looks pretty mean as well! I'll post of some pictures with the grey grill, a black grill and the chrome grill as well.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, haha in a couple months we'll see how it actually looks on the truck!!

Hey Shamran, not to sure how i'm going to smoke out the marker lights yet...Any ideas?

Oh and here is my girl that will be getting the face lift

Unfortunately it doesn't look this pretty anymore, I put it on her side a couple winters ago in a ditch, so only one side looks that nice with 2 primed fenders and the whole one side primer grey...
