pacbrake-holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!
pacbrake-holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!
well I finally got power to the main harness, ran a dual fuse block and got juice like that. I got a model for a 24 valve, my god its incredible, way better than my dads bd unit on his 01. It stays steady on in 4th till below 30mph, I figured it cut off at 35 or so. The thing took me days to get right, Im glad it finally works and so well at that.
yah, your right man. I got the turbo mount,24vavle model, the outlet is like 2 3/4". its vacuum actuated, I put in the shifter thumb switch, which is sweet, real nice quality. My dads brake is a bd, turbo mount, vacuum jobber. he just has a toggle under the steering column. It works well, no doubt, Ive had some good loads on nasty windy grades and it is nice. By seat of the pants, the pac seems to really hold back a lot harder, and in lower rpms. (although I don't have a tac, so that might be slander) below 1900 rpms the bd cuts on and off, Im pretty sure in 4th gear, doing 28 Im well below 1900, and the pac just held solid.

Sounds like a big difference if BD seems to cut off around 1900 rpm and the Pac still holds...
Is your dad's truck with 60lbs valve springs too?
You mentioned the outlet on the Pac is 2 3/4": is it clamp-on? How about on the inlet: what exhaust housing do you have?
You have a 1990 truck so you have hi-beams on the floor, right? Iwas thinking of using a similar switch from an older truck to use on my 92 for exhaust brake on/off, and keep the shifter mount for Gear Vendors OD.

I use the throttle switch so it's on all the time. Except of course, when the throttle is not closed. It's adjusted closely enough so I can modulate the exhaust brake with the accelerator pedal on long downgrades without adding fuel:

Then, this was an issue with my mounting etc.., the linkage wouldn't always come back and engage the brake, which sucked going down hills.
So now I just have a switch mounted on my shifter, and thats it, I either turn it on, or off. no linkage to worry about, as long as I have air and power the brake engages when I want every time.
