one of my favorite things about a first gen is opening the hood to show a 2nd/3rd gen guy and seeing his jaw drop at all the room in there to work on it

i love having people feel the injector lines when its running and telling them how a injection pump works. i tell them the lines are like spark plug wires, sending fuel instead of spark. they are hesitant to touch it thinking its going to shock them HAHA

I've thought about doin that if this motor goes to crap on me someday. I think it'd be sweet. I say do it, I would build up that motor though before you put it in. That 1st gen would be a little more of a sleeper then.

And it is true, I love all the room i have in my engine bay to work on this thing, the newer 12 valves, 24 valves, and 3rd gens are packed in there!

Not tryin to highjack or anything but, I pulled old blue up to the local hang out over the weekend and of course there are a bunch of rice rockets. Me and my buddies try to stay away from them but they always think they have something for some reason, lol. One of them asked if I wanted to look at his engine to see what he had done to it. I said sure just being polite. He begain to explain that he just put a 2" down pipe on it and a boost controller and he was hittin about 18lbs of boost. (I had to contain the laughter) So he wanted to look at the engine in my truck, so I pooped the hood. He asked what size down pipe I ran I said 4" with a big grin, and wanted to know what kind of boost I was runnin, I said a little over 55lbs with an even bigger grin. Needless to say he had a bummed look on his face and didnt talk to us the rest of the night, lol

I wish I could slow down enough to get some good pictures for ya'll to see my p-pump swap also my newest addition to the engine compartment is my compound turbo setup. Sgreen3 I know what you mean by making little "coffee can" enthusiest jaws drop cause one wanted to race me in town and I made him look like he was sitting still even with my slippy cluch from a 30mph drop up too 100mph he pulled over behind me ask what I had done and what kind of boost pressures, All I could tell him is I really don't know cause I burry my current 60lbs gauge. lol needless to say that always shuts them up haha
