Overhead shelf.
Overhead shelf.
Got my overhead shelf in the truck and got my CB mounted and fabbed up a switch panel. Still gotta finish gettin a power source up ther to tie into for all the switches that will eventually be up there. I'm also goin to have a few power ports up there to charge phones and other stuff.
I got this used from a friend for doing some pump tuning. The felt on it was pretty rough so off it came and we polished the aluminum.

It is held up on the ends by the visor screw holes then the visors just screw to the shelf. There is no support in the center but I think this one will soon have a center brace as it likes to bounce a bit..
Nope, no one touches my pump but me.
BTW how well will a CB work with a an antenna just layed across the dash. I had the antenna mounted on the mirror but I couldn't stand the wind noise from the coax goin through the wing window.

Not great But it will work for short range. May want to think about moving it to the bed rail or something? Mine is ontop of the head ach rack and works good. I've seen a few mounted to the rear bumper on the outsides kinda looked like the old trucker "Bumper" sticks, or what ever you call them.

I had one of those in my old '93. Took it out eventually because I sit too tall and it obstructed my view and wasn't very stable in the center with a load on it. I had one for a 2nd gen as well. I ended up cutting one down to fit between the sunvisors that was just big enough to hold my cobra 148gtl. I used the 2nd gen mounts and the angle came out perfect.

Mine was livable but I liked the mini shelf I made much better. If I do one in this truck I'd defnatley do the cut down one. The 2nd gen seats I have now sit much higher than the original bench.
