Over 100MPH in 4th!

I ran her out a little yesterday, and found out that my truck (which could only do 89MPH in 5th when I got it) will now easily go over 100MPH in 4th!
Of course I squeezed a bunch of water out of the front of the head gasket....

Don't get me wrong, at 102 I shifted into 5th and it put us in the seat a little. I've had it to 120MPH in 5th, but there is a lot more. I need to get my water/meth hooked up because I can't find the top speed without melting the pistons....

p.s. I am not condoning speeding on public roads...

My truck shakes like crazy at 70. At 120 i think my self and the the truck would fall apart from the vibrations.

ha ha our speedometers only go to 100 mph!!! and yes i have been past the 100 mark a few times... Mine is an auto though. And I have to work into that much speed, I have to hammer and let off and then hammer it and let off til i get up to 100 mph, cuz if i just hold it to the floor, it gets way too hot. That 366 spring sure helps!!!

Why, How many RPM's were you turning, do you think you were turning your pump too fast and overpressurizing your system?

Could you use a surge tank to displace the coolant during high flow runs?

Mine is rock solid at 90 MPH with no vibration, the freeways here will flow at 80 MPH and I can steer with 2 fingers on the wheel and locked with my knee.

Mine is pretty smooth at speed. I wrapped the speedo all the way around to the peg, so I am only guessing on my top speed. Need GPS! Need Z rated BFG's!

Gotta tell ya though, going 100 in 4th makes my truck sound like an old Daytona race car thundering down the strip. It's like a drug. It's not like my Hemi Road Runner, but the feeling isn't that far off I gotta tell you.

I've been into the 90s in 4th on a regular basis. Been well over 100 in 5th as well. It sure is fun.

I have seen 115 on a gps, and going off that and how long it took to come down off pegged, I have been to what I figured to be 125-130. At that speed vibrations disappear as the truck just kinda floats along...

And I thought I was bad shifting out of 4th at 85MPH... I think the D trucks handle the speed better than the W's.
