the powertrax is the light duty version of the Lock-Rite . I didn't know they even made a powertrax for a D70

Crossy's it's the other way around. The Powertrax "no slip" is the more expensive and more complex version of the same locker. The powertrax is stronger and has a smoother operation than the lock-rite.

And yes they do make them for the D70.

I have a trac Lok in mine(Dana 80). No complaints. It's set a bit tight and grumbles in parking lots. Well mannered on the road or wet. I don't go offroad if I can help it, but it's quite a bit better than the way it was.

I was curious what the pattern looked like doing a boosted launch. One wheel starts spinning several feet before the other. I don stay on the brakes, just get it to about 15psi, then off the brakes and mash the throttle. Kind of silly really, it eventually starts wandering and you have to roll out of it.

I'd go with a selectable locker. That 07 Chevy I had had an automatic diff lock. It took me a few weeks to get used to it locking while I was off the throttle in a single-wheel burnout. First couple times I looped it.

I'd be hesitant to put in a limited slip. The one in my 01 would squeal the inside tire on just about any turn on dry pavement. I'm sure it contributed to only getting 14 MPG out a a half-ton with 318. That's on top of it being easier to loop it.
