Terry here,
My user name is mysteryman on turbodieselregister.com . I have written quite a bit on the G360 in years past . You might like to read my posts there.. During my years at Chrysler we had a lot of problems with the G360.... They were not engineering problems...They were manufacturing problems..... The 3 main problems were , 1) oil leaks,Running the trans out of oil. 2) Too much preload on the mainshaft and countershaft bearings... 3) Bell housing misalignment. This was a big quality control issue ! The past few years I have been finding that most of the bell housings I have checked are now warped as well.... I am currently working on producing steel bell housings and engine adapter plates.. This will solve the misalignment problems once and for good..
Stay tuned for more on this project... If you need more help with your
getrag problem email me your phone # and I will call you.. myateryman@joimail.com

What is the best way to check if your bell housing is warped.

Hey Papecat thanks for sendin Terry my way.

Well I finished tearing the Getrag down, Seems like a pretty simple Tranny(this is the first manual tranny I've attemped to tear into)

Other than what I mentioned above there seems to be no other damaged parts, The rest of it seems to be in excelent condition

I'd like to know this also, is this a problem with the newer trucks? I wonder what causes the warp-age?

The pocket bearing could have failed too. How does it look, the one right on the end of the mainshaft rides between the input shaft/4th gear and 3rd gear..? A new input with all new bearings and synchros should solve it. I don't have anything I want to sell, to answer your PM.

That sucks, are you going to put a roller bearing in? If you are and figure out the bearing number let us know.

I have bought a couple of the ball bearing pilot shaft bearings for the flywheel at quad 4x4. They're made in china and only cost 15 dollars or so. I guess they are thicker than normal bearings.
