Oil levels: differential and T-case?

I checked fluid levels in my truck tonight, front and rear differentials were about 1/2" below the filler hole, is this correct? Every other vehichle Ive owned gets filled up to the hole.

Transfer case was full to the hole. Correct?

What are the proper oils to use for each?

thx

It's right. The axles are supposed to be 1/2" to 3/8" below the hole. If you fill the rear all the way up the "extra" usually winds up on the brake shoes.
