So if a guy installed his pushrods wrong(lower section not seated properly) and then hit the key to spin the motor over some Then after much frustration managed to remove the now "S" shaped pushrods. What would he expect to be damaged on the engine. Hypothetically speaking of course.

I'm not sure I understand why they bent? As long as it wasn't overtightened valves, it sounds like you are just out a set of pushrods

Why did you have the rocker arms off?

You Just need to replace the bent on's..........pull all the push rods out the you messed with and role them on a flat surface. if the push rod got bent sight and you run it, it will become S shaped also.

Your not alone, i have put the push rod on top of the lifter, instead of in the lifter.

I just added them to my carnage corner that are going to be wall ornaments some day.

I had the head off doing my swap. I did the piston lift pump and 3200rpm spring while i was in there. I put everything back together dropped the pushrods in and tried to spin the motor (with key)to get close to number one TDC. I heard a bad noise looked at the motor and saw some pushrods sitting kinda low. Tried to pull them out and they were quite bent. After fighting a bit I got them out. Dropped a couple good ones back in one cylinder at a time and spun the motor by hand. Everything seems fine. You guys dont think anything will be bent/damaged/broken internally?

I can understand your worries,(just having the head of and all) but the push rod is the weak link!

If the eng would have been revved up them.....Maybe. with you just cranking on it, now problems.

Put some straight one's in, adj or at least check the valve clearance and runnn herrrr!
