NV4500 shift towers

I'm finally getting a 4 bolt top cover for my NV4500. My question is about the 4 bolt shift tower assembles. Is there any reason I can not run a GM unit? I ask this only because of my custom shifter in the crewcab...70 Roadrunner style pistol grip...and the GM units have a preferable angle and thread stub out the top.

I can't think of any reason why it would not work...same basic tranny between dodge and GM/Chev...but maybe there is something I have over looked?

I put a chevy nv in my truck with dodge bellhousing and 1350/1410 joint. Chevy top cover and using Dakota Digital interface for speedo to work. I'd rather have the dodge top cover due to the shifter being so thick on the top that my old shifter handle not fitting. Can't hardly find one to fit it. I don't see why the covers wouldn't interchange.
