And now there's only one........

I started this morning out with three trucks, and was intending to keep three trucks. I had a guy stop by our office and I had my 98' Chevy sitting around the side of the building and he wanted to buy it. I priced it and he said he'd be back saturday with the money. A friend of mine who has been wanting to buy my 92' W350 for a while called me out of the blue this morning and said he really wanted it and had the money toghether. I told him I'd go ahead and sell it to him if he promised to give me first shot to buy it back if he ever decided to sell it. He said he would, and he'd have the money by saturday. I really was not intending to part with these two trucks, but it worked out that way. Now I just have my super clean mint condition 93' D250 left. I got $12,900 for my 98' Chevy 3500, 4x4, ext. cab, 6.5/auto, leather, dually, 56k miles, like new. My 92' W350 I let go for $4250. I was hoping to get $5000, but I took $4250 cause this guy is a good friend and I know he'll take good care of it.

I don't know why I posted this, just thought you guys might like to know what I finally did, and what trucks are selling for?

it sounds like you le tthe W250 go for the lower side of what I have seen them selling for, but not too bad.
Sounds llike a good day of horse trading.

You think? Last time I started talking about selling one or two of my old trucks some guys on here piped up and told me my old Dodges weren't worth more than $2000 a piece. I knew better than that. There's a pic of them in my gallery, if you wnat to see what the W350 looked like for comparison.

Sure I think $5k should have been your lowest price. The 350 is not in perfect shape sure but it 14 y/o. You said it ran good and was in good mechanical shape other than a few minor things. So ya I think that was steal being 4x4 with the flatbed. But that is my IMHO as I think your 250 would barely be worth $4250 being 2wd reg cab.

Always IMHO

The clutch is the 350 was getting real tired. The air didn't work, the radio didn't work, it had a few leaks, but it was still doing good. I ran 400 miles with it the other day with my 48' trailer down the interstate at 70 mph, did great. The 250, which I am now keeping, is like new. Everything on it is perfect and every last thing works, even the cruise and power mirrors.

Well ok I can see how you allowed for those repairs in the selling price.

Your from around St. Loius right? You could have advertised around my area (W.ky SO. ILL/IN), you could have gotten plenty. Thats why I am still keeping my truck, All the used 2nd gens around here must be made out of gold or something.

I think that was a steel for the W350 too. I've been seeing them go really high around here. I'd have paid $5000 for it in a heartbeat when I was looking for a Cummins.

Seems like the 1st gen 4x4 rigs are selling for as much as the early model 2nd gen rigs. I see 1st gen club cab 4x4s on lots for $13,000 in Portland Or. and I can find plenty of 2nd gen club cabs for under $7000. 1st gens are in relatively high demand here in Oregon . . .

I don't know about where you are but I have turned down $8000.00 for my 92 D-250 more than a few times down here in the south.
