Not starting after driving it a while, need help
This past weekend i was on leave and decided to take the old girl on a road rip, truck started fine untill i stopped to refuel. I had to turn her over and over and finally she fired up. I thought to myself maybe the mechanical lift pump was going bad since i observed it leaking from the weep hole on the bottom. Changed the lift pump still doing the same thing. When i made it back home i was washing the undercarriage and noticed one of the fuel lines going into the tank was leaking. Could this be the culprit letting air into the lines or is it the injector pump itself. What does the fuel shutoff solenoid look like and where is it located? The truck runs fine once it started so im thinking its not the injector pump. The injector pump has paint markings on it like it was rebuilt by the previous owner. All help would be greatly appreciated. Im gonnna have the wife post some pics of my truck tomorrow, i think its pretty sweet with the rockstar wheels and the 6" stacks all primered in black with decalls removed but all you guys can be the judge of that. Thanks again
The problem sounds like the leaking fuel line. The complete fuel system is a pressurized setup. If one line has a crack in it it allows the fuel to fall back into the tank instead of staying in the line like its supposed to. Imagine sucking soda through a straw with a crack or pint hole in it. Thats what its doing to your system. Replace the fuel line!
The fuel shutoff solenoid is on the injector pump. Its the little roundish thing that the one little wire is going to.
