Question not fuling at boost! (low power!

hi

we have an ol 93 dodge cummins...

a long time ago we turned up the fuel, by screwing the fuel delivery in!

and it had great power, but the truck lost its power!

it smokes like crazy when hiting the pedal, but it seems not to give more fuel once turbo spools!

what might be the prob???

Check the AFC line from the head to the pump. If that's broken you will not get extra fuel under boost. If the line is OK, take the AFC cover off. Look at the diaphragm. If it's torn, the boost will not move it. If that's OK, pull the diaphragm and AFC pin out and shine a flashlight down the hole the pin came out of. Move the throttle lever to full throttle, a little pin should pop out from the front side. When you relaese the throttle, you should be able to push the pin in easily using a screwdriver. If it doesn't pop out or seems sticky, spray WD-40 or similar in there and keep trying to work it loose.

Sounds a lot like a intercooler boot is busted or the intercooler may have pin holes. Do you have a boost gauge and if so what is your boost readings?

ill try this!
i pulled the diaphram a few times, even grinded it down!.

oh and yeah, the diapram was torn, and i replaced it with another one.
how much does a diapram cost? a guy sells me his used one for $50.00!

when i open the afc, after it, there's somewhere a fuel leak, coming from under the afc. and it stops leaking soon, after driving it for a while. why's that??

turbo boost was about 24 psi max.
