Wiggle the key switch back and forth a bit and tell me what happens. Mine stays forward just enough to keep the accessories etc. off until I turn it back just a bit...

Not all the power goes dead though. Display stays on, audio just cuts in and out. Radio works without anything hooked to my ground cable???? Guess it pulls its ground off of something else. Let me state again that it cuts in and out when door is slammed or I hit a big hole. Im pulling my hair out over this one!

I am pretty sure that you will find the problem in the speakers or the speaker wiring. The fact that three decks exhibit the same symptoms, all have power all the time, and bumps or jars to the door affect the symptoms. I have had similar problems and even though it's weird that both are out at once, it's possible that one speaker has been out or on the fritz for a while and you only notice it now that the good one is cutting out too. Alternatively, the speaker wires could be shorting together in/near the harness, taking them both out at once. Get a spare speaker, and wire it directly to the speaker out from the deck without going through the harness. If it works, the problem is downstream in the speaker wiring or in the speaks themselves.

Plugged the factory deck into factory harness, and it worked fine, telling me it must be in my jvc harness. Im trying to find an extra one that I have somewhere. However Im thinking of dropping a factory cd unit in it. Does anyone know how I can get a factory plug from an 05 Dodge? I have access to a 6 disc of my buddies, but need a way to plug it in.

I'm pretty sure mine is just a bad radio (goes between black, display & display + radio)...

Order this up from fleabay yesterday for a total of $28. WAY cheaper than the local yards had quoted for a plain-jane DC radio

CDs are so... "Nineties" bro!

I listen to my XM or MP3s (when the need to "hear what I want to hear, when I want to hear it" strikes) via FM modulator...

Honestly, I liked this deck because it has all the extra buttons, sliders, and gee-gaws!

I went with a double fix. I ordered my JVC cable to be here friday, and I found a 4 disc in dash changer from a stratus or something on fleabay. It should be in next week. Ill run the changer if I can make it fit. If not, it goes to my brothers jeep. A few dollars later, and my radios fixed...

The new harness didnt do the trick. Its got to be in the door speaker. You kick the driver door or slam it and it cuts in and out. I dont understand why...one speaker shorting shouldnt kill it all unless they are tied together, which I dont think it is. I am stumped...

Okay. Its in the factory harness somewhere. Replaced my JVC plug, no dice. New ground, no dice. Checked speakers, both good. So...Im gonna run all new wires like I was putting in a first time radio. Primitive, but will def resolve my problem.
