Welp i guess ill join the lost list of people who have sold their first gens.... Sad to see her go but at least she will still reside in my area. I just hope she will be well looked after. I guess its time to get this second gen with flat tires moving.

Why sell it?

You'll be back.

You will be outta that second gen in no time. Wait till you spend some time under the hood cursing and swearing at it.

I've met a few guys who have wrote off there first gens, bought a second gen n sold it months later for another first gen.

They always wonder why it's gone, after it's gone.

NOTHING wrong with round fenders.
Especially when they have a VE pump instead of an electronic.

Always say YES to king pins, servicable hubs and NP205 T-cases.

Always say NO to ball joints, sealed unit bearings and chain driven T-cases! You'll be back :-)

Yet people simply LOVE Dana 80s and NV4500s, those are YUCKY 2nd Gen parts and don't belong in their 1stgens.
The items mentioned in the posting above are items that generally go bad due to lack of maintenance or severe abuse.
If you abuse your truck, MAINTAIN IT, simple, easy and cheaper in the long run.

This goes for ANY equipment.

This "1st gen VS. 2nd gen" stuff is as bad as the Classic Mopar crowd whining about Fords and Chevies, yet using 9 inch rears, Mustang 5 speeds and GM HEI based ignition systems.

Mark.

Agreed!! Had a first gen, a '93 cc, completely redid it, a beautiful truck, sold it for a second gen due to car seat issues. There are things I like better about both, so the solution is to own one of each!! Not argue about which is better, they both have cummins after all.......

Nothing wrong with a second gen but I did dump mine and end up back with a second 1st gen.
